In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

1.In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

I have created a house style with the fonts and colours used, along with this the design aesthetic seems to convey the same minimalist idea and this will add to the design as its apparent that it is exactly the same type of magazine.

The fonts used are standard throughout and this is indicative of the house style along with the three main colours. My initial idea was to make it so it was only three colours (and i kept this on the front page as it looked odd with red) however the other two needed something to draw the eyes of the reader to the most important parts of the collumns. The layout is very sparse and it doesnt give a full idea of everything that is contained within the issue, this breaks conventions and therefore is seen as rather different to the typical magazine. Also the off center picture makes the main artists face look larger than life and
therefore changes what can be seen on the person. The lack of garish design is indicative of my own personal tastes as I strongly dislike any kind of large, overstated font and colours so the slightly muted design means convention is broken again as it avoids the idea of standing out. This gives the publication a much more professional feel.
