LIIAR ANALYSIS OF 3 MAGAZINE FRONT COVER

IDEOLOGY:
NME prides itself on the ideals of getting to new music first. Mainstream bands generally dont feature in it however if a band they previously covered becomes mainstream then they will return to that band for an interview to see how they are doing after becoming popular.

INSTITUTION:
NME is a british based magazine with a publisher based in Britain (IPC Media) that publishes various magazines that are aimed at very different markets. They publish Horse and Hound and OK magazine so they aren't any overlapping markets.

AUDIENCE:
The audience for this magazine are generally in their teens as teenagers tend to have less economic responsibilities and therefore they can spend their money on music. It also seeks to find whats going to be the next big thing so teenagers can become involved in the new trend.

REPRESENTATION:
Generally this magazine covers things that young people would consider cool. It shows these people as being at the forefront of youth subculture and the new styles and crazes. It represents a kind of person that is particularly interested in music in general.
